Yew is a very ancient wood. The famous English longbow was made from Yew. It comes in various colours, ranging from white to brown, orange and rarely purple. The Yew wood I supply I collected from Traquair House in Scotland. The oldest inhabited house in Scotland. The famous Traquair Yews are thought to be a thousand years old. A few years ago they were trimmed for public safety and I sought permission of Lady Catherine to collect this Yew to make knives from. There is a very limited supply. When it’s gone, that’s it for many years!
